Dunhuang Mural

Frescomogaomineral-pigmentbuddhistaged

A Mogao-cave fresco — mineral pigment, aged wall, flying figures.

Swatch shows the same line — Signal over noise — rendered in this material, so the surface is the only variable.

Prompt formula

SURFACE: An ancient cave-wall mural in the Dunhuang manner — the awe of a thousand-year painted wall. Aged plaster ground with fine craquelure, flaking edges revealing earlier paint layers, mineral pigments - malachite green, azurite blue, iron-red ochre, and cut-gold leaf halos. One graceful apsara ribbon of cloud-scroll drifts along the top edge, pale and secondary. All Chinese characters brushed in dense lamp-black with the poise of sutra calligraphy on a prepared white-lime cartouche band so they stay perfectly legible; the two RESULT lines larger, each on its own cartouche with a thin gold-leaf edge; a small iron-red seal mark low. The awe comes from the wall itself - layered, weathered, glowing mineral color. Text zones stay clean lime-white so nothing fights the characters. CRITICAL DIFFERENTIATION - this is pigment on aged plaster wall, NOT paper painting — cracks and flaking are of the wall; no photographic realism of modern objects, no 3D render, no vector.
SKELETON: auto by page role (cover / chapter / list / compare)
DEVICE: the page's argument drawn as a form native to this material
END: Full-bleed 16:9 — render DEVICE on the SURFACE, per the page's composition.
CRITICAL: title in clean legible English; NEVER invent extra words or non-English glyphs;
annotations only as marks / numbers / dimension lines; no UI, no cards, no captions.
