SURFACE:  A hand-painted porcelain surface, photographed close so the glaze itself is the material. Cobalt blue applied with a brush UNDER a clear glaze - outline strokes (勾线) with visible brush entry and lift, filled by 分水 tonal washes in three or four distinct depths of blue, with soft feathering where the pigment spread into the wet body. Authentic kiln evidence must be present - glaze pooling darker in the recesses, faint orange-peel glaze texture, a few iron-spot flecks (铁锈斑) where the cobalt burned through, one or two hairline crackle lines, and a slightly uneven glaze edge near the foot. The white is warm porcelain white, never paper white; the blue ranges from pale grey-blue to deep sapphire. Gentle raking light so the glaze shows a wet, glassy depth and the vessel's curvature is felt.
